The current model of the 408 battery pack uses six NiMH batteries. Older
models of the 408 battery pack use NiCad batteries. If the battery pack
cannot properly be charged, these batteries may need to be replaced.
Batteries must be replaced by Emerson. See the Return of Materials
section in this manual for more information.
2.2 Charge the 408 battery pack
The 404B Infrared Phototach can be powered directly from an AMS 2140
Machinery Health Analyzer using the cable provided in the package.
However, for extended use the 404B Infrared Phototach can be powered
from the 408 battery pack.
CAUTION!
The 408 battery pack should be charged before first use.
Note
A wiring diagram is provided on the back of the 408 battery pack for quick
reference.
