Changing Blade

All saw blades are danger-
ous and may cause per-
sonal injury. To reduce
the risk of being injured,
wear leather gloves when
handling and uncoiling saw
blades.
Items Needed
Leather Gloves ...........................................1 Pair
Blades should be changed when they become
dull, damaged, or when you are using materials
that require a blade of a certain type or tooth
count.
To change blade on bandsaw:
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Raise headstock all the way.
3.
Remove six wheel cover screws (see
Figure 14).

4.
Move blade guard all the way to left.
5.
Clean chips and shavings with brush/ vacuum.
6.
Loosen blade tension knob.
7.
Slip blade off wheels, then out from between
blade guide bearings (see Figure 15).

Install new blade between left and right blade
guide bearings, as shown in Figure 15.
Note: It is sometimes possible to flip the
blade inside out, in which case the blade will
be installed in the wrong direction. Check
to make sure the blade teeth face the same
direction as blade travel, as shown in Figure
16, after mounting on the bandsaw. Some
blades will have a directional arrow as a
guide.

Work your way around blade to adjust
position so back of blade is against shoulder
of wheels, as shown in Figure 17.
