SECTION 6: MAINTENANCE

To reduce risk of shock or
accidental startup, always
disconnect machine from
power before adjustments,
maintenance, or service.

Schedule

For optimum performance from this machine, this
maintenance schedule must be strictly followed.
Ongoing
To minimize your risk of injury and maintain proper
machine operation, shut down the machine imme-
diately if you ever observe any of the items below,
and fix the problem before continuing operations:
Check/correct loose mounting bolts.
Check/correct damaged or dull saw blade.
Check/correct worn or damaged wires.
Clean/protect table.
Clean metal chips from upper and lower
wheel areas.
Correct any other unsafe condition.
Monthly Check
Check blade guide bearing assemblies for
damage or wear.
Remove blade and clean all surfaces.

Cleaning &
Protecting
Cleaning the Model G0885 is relatively easy. Use
a chip brush and vacuum excess metal chips and
other debris. Wipe off the remaining metal dust
with a dry cloth.
Periodically, remove the blade and thoroughly
clean all metal chips or built-up grease from the
wheel surfaces and blade housing.
Protect the unpainted vise base surface by wiping
it clean after every use.

Lubrication

The bearings on your bandsaw are factory
lubricated and sealed. Leave them alone unless
they need to be replaced.
