Rack PDU recommendations

HPE PDUs are designed for use with HPE Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise racks, but are compatible
with most third-party data center racks. The PDU models vary in form factor with several mounting
configurations available, including the following:
• HPE Basic PDU—Provides basic power distribution. No network connectivity.
• HPE Metered PDU—Provides real-time local and remote power monitoring at each load segment enabling
users to obtain power usage and available circuit capacity.
• HPE Switched PDU—Offers the same features as Metered PDUs and provides controlled on/off switching
of individual outlets, groups of outlets, power sequencing delays to minimize inrush currents, and
unauthorized equipment provisioning.
• HPE Metered & Switched PDU—Offers the same features as Switched PDUs but provides individual
outlet metering in place of load segment metering.
NOTE: Take into account the length of the unit when selecting PDU, as the length of the unit may make the
servicing of certain PDUs challenging.
