Daisy-chaining

Daisy-chaining the D8000 Storage Enclosure offers the benefits of both single and dual-domain storage
configurations, up to the limit of physical HDDs supported by the initiators. For all current Smart Array SAS
initiators, that limit is 211 hard drives. Up to two D8000 Storage enclosures (each of which provide 106
physical HDD slots) can be connected together to provide the highest density storage for Smart Array in only
8U of rack space.
The following diagram illustrates the proper method for connecting two single IO Module D8000 Storage
Enclosures to one Smart Array initiator to achieve single-domain connectivity.
