contact with food should be ensured at all stages in order to
facilitate control, the recall of defective products, consumer
Information and the attribution of responsability. Business
operators should be able to Identify the businesses from
which, and to which, the materials and articles are supplied.
That information shall be made available to the competent
authorities on demand.

(WEEE) Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament

The objectives are, to preserve, protect and improve the quality
ofthe environment, protect human health and utilise natural
resources prudently and rationally. Each producer should, when
placing a product on the market, provide a financial guarantee for
the management of WEEE, Final holders should not be charged
for the collection and treatment of WEEE from professional use.
Specific treatment for such WEEE Is Indispensable in order to
avoid the dispersion of pollutants into the recycled material or the
waste stream. Systems are set up allowing final holders to return
such waste at least free of charge, also on a one-to-one basis
when buying a new product, as long the equipment Is of equivalent
type and has fulfilled the same functions as the supplied equipment
Effective proportionate and dissuasive penalties are applicable
to breaches of the national provisions adopted pursuant to this
Directive.
The symbol for the marking of electrical and electronic
equipment Is Indicating that separate collection of their waste
must be provided.
