Processors
The PowerEdge 14G systems feature the high performance AMD EPYC
exceptional workload-optimized performance and hardware-enhanced security. These processors are designed for next-generation
data centers running on, software defined infrastructure supercharged for efficiency, performance, and agile services delivery across
demanding workloads and applications. The AMD EPYC
performance computing, and also storage for data centers.
Processor features
™
The new AMD EPYC
processor provides more cores, I/O capacity, and memory capacity. The AMD EPYC
features including:
•
Highly scalable 32-core System on Chip (Soc) design, with support for two high performance threads per core.
•
14nm process technology.
•
Industry leading memory bandwidth, 8-channels of memory. The single socket system supports up to 16 DIMMs of DDR4,
delivering up to 64 or 128 GB* memory capacity.
* - Maximum DIMM/memory capacity of 128 GB will be available at a later time.
•
The processor is a complete SoC with fully integrated, high speed I/O supporting 128 lanes of PCIe Gen3, negating the need for
a separate chipset.
•
A highly optimized cache structure for high performance and energy efficient compute.
•
Dedicated security hardware.
