Chapter 8: Diagnosing and recovering from problems
Here's what to do:
1. If you added or changed the system memory modules (SIMMs), press Enter
while the error message is displayed to enter the Setup Utility. From the
Setup Utility Main Menu, choose System Information and verify that the
Memory Type setting is correct. For instructions on using the Setup Utility,
see "Using the Setup Utility" on page 29.
2. If you did not add or change the system memory modules (SIMMs), make
sure the existing memory modules have been installed properly. For
instructions on installing memory modules, see "Installing system memory
modules" on page 68.
If you have removed cache memory from your computer, press Enter while the
error message is displayed to enter the Setup Utility. Choose System
Information from the Setup Utility Main Menu to verify that the new cache
memory size is correct. For instructions on using the Setup Utility, see "Using
the Setup Utility" on page 29. If you have not removed memory from your
computer, check your Guide to HelpWare and All the Extras folder for
information on obtaining service.

connected to the ports on the back of the system unit.

2. Make sure that a keyboard key or a mouse button is not being held down.
Make sure the diskette has been formatted. If you don't want to use the diskette
to boot (start) your computer, remove the diskette from the drive.
