Troubleshooting

CAUTION
Toaster may be hot!
CHECK
1. Increase toast time.
2. Increase toast temperature for both radiant
heaters. (Temperature increased by increasing
power to heaters in increments of 5%.)
1. Turn power off and allow the toaster to cool.
2. Carefully remove the side panels in order to view
the heater relays.
NOTE: There are two control panels on the front of
the unit. The yellow control panel on the left controls
the heater for the front chamber. The green control
panel on the right controls the heaters for the rear
chamber and the buffered bun landing zone.
3. Turn unit ON and immediately press and hold the
PRINCE CASTLE Logo button, the
INFORMATION button, and the PRODUCT
button. Hold these buttons until the display reads:
"Heater Test".
4. Press the INFORMATION button.
5. The LED on relay 1 should begin blinking and
corresponding heater should begin to heat. Verify
that heat is being generated by the heater.
6. Press the down arrow to move to relay 2 and
heater 2. Verify that the relay is operating. The
display will read the current temperature for this
heater. Verify that heat is being generated by the
heater and that the display temperature
increases by at least 5 degrees. Press the down
arrow to move to the next relay and heater.
NOTE: Heaters 1 and 5 are IR heaters and do not
have a temperature probe. Therefore, the display will
not show a temperature setting for these heaters,
only for 2, 3, 4 and 6.
7. Repeat each of these steps for the remaining
relays and heaters.
8. If necessary, repeat these steps for the other
toaster chamber.
Heater configuration is:

Check output voltage from main PCB to relay. When
unit is heating, the voltage should be 5 VDC.

REMEDY
Change both toast time and
temperature until an
appropriate combination is
reached.
1. If relay LEDs do not light
up, verify that relay is
receiving voltage from
main PCB. If it is
receiving voltage, replace
relay.
2. Verify that relay is
sending voltage to
heater. When LED is on,
voltage across the output
terminals should be
minimal. When LED is
not on, voltage should be
at least 208V.
3. If heater is receiving
voltage, but does not
generate heat, replace
heater.
If there is no voltage output
when unit should be heating,
replace main PCB.
