B.2 Application Software Installation
The distribution software for the VAX-11 Ethernet Software is delivered on a
1600 bpi magnetic tape in either tar or cpio format.
can be stored anywhere on the host file system. For purposes of explanation,
the examples below assume that the distribution software will be installed in
a directory called /usr/iris/net.
1.
Login to UNIX.
2.
Create a directory to hold the distribution software.
3.
Change the current directory to the new directory /usr/iris/net.
