correct the timing.

adjusting
the stator plate, take care
not to damage the coil windings.

Tighten the stator plate screws and recheck
tim
ing.

When the
ig nition
timing
is
correct,
remove
the
timing
light
and
repl
ace
the recoi
l
starter.

Remove

ine
on
its
mounting system.

Remove
the
spark plug
from t
he RH
cyl inder
and
install
a dial
ind
icato
r
in
to th
e RH
cy linde
r
spark p
lug
hole
.
3.
Rotate
the
drive
converter
in
t
he
normal
direction of rotation (coun terclockwise) to
fi
nd
TOC. Rotate the drive converter c lockwise to
0.073
in
.
(1.86 mm)
before
TOC
.
Mark
t he
drive
converter opposite the
timing
pointer. (See
Fig-
ure
2-54.)
