AIR INTAKE
SILENCER

Remove the nuts and washers that
secure
the
muffler
to the mounting brackets
.
3.
Remove
the muffler
from the snowmobi le by
separating it from the exhaust manifold flange,
and guiding outlet pipe out of
exhaust
outlet
boot
.
Installation
Install the muffler by reversing the removal pro-
cedure
.
Make sure the
insulation
washers are
properly positioned on each side of the muffler
brackets
.
(See Figure
3-14.)
Air Intal<e Silencer
Removal
1.
Remove
th
e
drive bel
t
guard .
.
2.
Disconnect the
springs from the intake si len
-
cer.
Note position of long and short springs.
Remove the
air
intake silencer from the snow
-
mobile. Check the
seal in between the upper
and lower halves of the intake si lencer. If there
is any
sign
of a possible air leak reseal the two
halves with
silicone
sealer. Install a new cable
tie
band around the si lencer assembly to se-
curely
fasten the cover to the si lencer body.
