Control Mode

Purpose:
To set the control mode for the controller.
Options:
The options are described in the table below:
Control Mode
Description
In this mode the controller monitors the tem-
perature of the heat trace circuit and compares
it to the Control Setpoint temperature plus the
On/Off
deadband value. The output is turned off if the
control temperature is more than the Setpoint
plus the deadband value otherwise the output
is turned on.
This proprietary algorithm uses the measured
ambient temperature, desired maintain tem-
perature, minimum ambient temperature and
PASC
size of the smallest pipe diameter to deter-
mine the optimum duty cycle and cycle period
to maintain the temperature, minimize energy
consumption and prolong the switch life.
This algorithm constantly monitors the
control sensor temperature and adjusts the
output duty cycle proportionally, whenever the

temperature falls within the 0% to 100% band.
Note: This mode is incompatible with the
Contactor Output Type.
