Variable Description
Address Modbus Station Address used to identify the unit.
Baud Rate - the rate at which communications occur on

3.3.1.2 Ethernet
A 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN connection may be used by the Elexant 4010i/4020i for communicating
with remote devices using the Modbus/TCP protocol. An Ethernet connection can be made via the RJ45
connector at the top of the unit. Configuration parameters and defaults are shown below.

3.3.2

Profibus (Optional)

The Elexant 4020i is available with an optional Profibus communications port. It is also a master-slave
protocol similar to Modbus but has the ability to support multiple masters. Like Modbus, Profibus also
runs on an RS-485 link. Profibus connectivity is made via a specific DB9 connector and Profibus cable.
