The connection to PC is indicated by icon located on the bottom right corner next to battery icon. For data
download you must be in the main screen.
Until you are not on main screen, the VA4_DISC remains to be connected to the instrument processor and you
cannot see it on your PC. The real connection with PC is announced by the message box.

VAx_DISC (for VA4 II only)

Sometimes you may need higher capacity interface disk than the VA4_DISC (16GB for VA4 II). You can
connect any external disk via USB. In order that the instrument is able to recognize your disk, you must name it
as VAx_DISC. Use a standard USB OTG cable (see bellow) to allow the instrument to act as a host. Connect
the small plug to the USB socket then connect the VAx_DISC to the OTG's socket. When VAx_DISC is
connected the instrument prefers it rather than VA4_DISC.
Note: The OTG cable is not a standard accessory of VA4 set.

The charging

The POWER socket for external charger is on the top panel. Indicating LED diode is in upper right corner of
front panel. The LED lights red during charging and lights green when fully charged.
Note. Two LEDs are in upper right corner. The left one for switching on and the right one for charging.
The older version has the socket for external charger on the upper panel above the POWER button. The BAT
LED on the upper panel lights orange during charging. When the battery is fully charged, it lights green.

The DSP board - monitoring and reset

The DSP board is the most important part of the instrument. The special chip provides all necessary operations,
which are required for achieving of 4 channel synchronous data.
The STAT LED is on the top panel and enables to monitor the DSP board. Several states can appear:
- Green with 0.25sec time interval (4Hz, four times per sec) - the measurement is running.
- Green with 1 sec time interval - STANDBY, the measurement is not running.
- Red - the DSP board does not work properly. Turn the instrument off and on.
The older version enables different procedure. When the red STAT occurs, do the reset of DSP board. Do not
switch-off the instrument. Use the slim not sharp thing (e.g. paper clip) and push the button, which is hidden in
the RST hole.
