Online monitoring systems are used for rea ding the vibrations on machines continuously. We use two types of devices for online monitoring.: 1. First one is online unit A3716. This unit contains 4 DSP boards (digital signal processing boards – more information in chapter Adash DSP board). Each board contains 4 input channels (it means A3716 has 16 input channels overall).

Data manager – As mentioned above, it is part of DDS software. It is sending configuration commands to MeasEngine.

SQL server is very sensitive to these events and database corruption can occur. Note: Adash is not responsible for data loss caused by a failure of third-party hardware or software. When using SQL Server, regular backups as well as UPS power backups are recommended.
  • Page 11 The latest versions of the Adash Server package no longer support 32-bit architecture. The package requires a 64-bit OS and at least Windows 7 SP1. Adash server installation (MySQL) can be found on flash drive you received or on Adash website: https://adash.com/downloads/adash-firmware Note: Under ‘Adash Firmware’...

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems DDS – Digital diagnostic system As mentioned in the beginning, DDS is a software for database’s (project’s) changes and creation. DDS is used for measurements configuration, data visualization and following data analysis. DDS installation is described in first chapter of this manual (STEP 5: Software installation – DDS). Basics of DDS database creation are also described in this chapter (STEP 6: DDS database creation).
  • Page 29: Conditional Measurements

Conditional measurements Adash allows to set up a conditional measurement by the value of the controlling data cell. For example: controlling data cell for order analysis is speed data cell. Valid interval is 2500-3500 RPM (Min and Max parameters) – the measurement of order analysis is taken only in this interval. Data saving is then controlled by adaptive algorithm (more information in next chapter Data saving modes).
  • Page 30: Temporary Stop Of Readings

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems Let’s explain it on example: We set condition, e.g. save measurement when measured value is higher than 2500 RPM. Interval for this measurement is 10 seconds. If condition is not met during these ten seconds interval (it means that measured value is not higher than 2500 RPM) then measurement is not saved.
  • Page 31: Manually Triggered Measurements

If measurements are set as Manual (value set to Yes), no measurement is performed automatically. Measurement starts only after pressing ‘Start’ button (Online tab). Pressing of ‘Stop’ button stops the collection of these data cells. This functionality is available from version 3.3.6 and A3716 firmware ver. 2.67.

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems Advanced functions There is set of advanced functions for online units. Click with right mouse button on selected online unit and you get following options. Buttons description: Start Engine - starts MeasEngine of online device.
  • Page 33: Email Notifications

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems Email notifications DDS allows sending of email notifications when defined alarms are exceeded. Notifications are being send from the computer running the Data Manager (the computer where the online data collection was started). The Data Manager processes the data in packages, ie once every X minutes downloads the data from all online devices and stores it in a database.
  • Page 34: Data Saving Modes

Online monitoring systems Data saving modes The online unit A3716 / A3800 measures continuously, which means that if the length of one reading is one second, then a new value is measured every second. This ensures that no event can be overlooked (i.e., no change in vibration level).
  • Page 35: Saving Settings

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems Smax and complex Smax Measured value itself is a quantifier. It is complex number for complex Smax. Amplitude + phase, order analysis and phase shift Measured value is a quantifier for amplitude + phase (it means complex number).
  • Page 36: Saving Algorithm - How Does It Work

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems Following parameters are related to significant change. These parameters are: minimum value threshold, minimum absolute change and minimum relative change. Significant change value is saved when set parameters are met. When significant change value is saved, new time interval starts in that moment. Even if the previous one did not elapse.
  • Page 37: Data Saving Parameters In Older Firmware And Dds

In DDS version 3.5.3 and older, the data saving parameters were stored in cfg file C:\A3716\data\online.cfg for each A3716 itself. This file is still used if A3716 FW version is 027804 (and older) or tree was created in DDS version 3.5.3 (and older).
  • Page 38: Errors

(for example, value is higher than specified limit). Change (significant value change) Measurements are ongoing continuously in unit A3716 (no pause between them). Every new measured value is compared with the latest saved value. If there is significant change between these values then this new measured value is saved.
  • Page 39: Advanced Features

ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems Advanced features You can find more information about advanced features such as remote desktop connection or virtual unit in this chapter. Remote desktop connection Remote desktop connection is a program which allows you to control another PC on the network from your PC.

A3716 (A3800) update This chapter is appointed for advanced users only. For unit update please follow steps below: • Connect a keyboard, a mouse and a monitor to your A3716 device (or you can use remote desktop connection). • Login as:...
  • Page 44: A3716 (A3800) Time Synchronization

A3716 (A3800) time synchronization It is important to keep internal time of all A3716 units up to date. In the beginning set the correct time zone in A3716. The Data_Manager synchronizes time in all A3716 units with the time on Adash server.
  • Page 45: Errors

  • Page 47: Appendix 1 - Data Saving For Older Firmware And Dds

Appendix 1 – Data saving for older firmware and DDS You can edit the online.cfg directly in the A3716 unit using the remote desktop connection. Or you can download the file to your PC from DDS and then upload it back after editing. New parameters are valid after the restart of MeasEngine (or the A3716).
  • Page 48: Set New Data Saving System

The rel param is the relative part of the significant change. The 0.05 value means 5 %. rel=0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 In A3716 FW version 027804 and newer only the first value is taken account. In older versions the adaptive algorithm uses the values in the row.
  • Page 49 ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems 3. After this change, default values are set to the database. You need to change parameters for it based on your needs and preferences as in the older one.
  • Page 50: Appendix 2 - Opc Ua (Opc Da)

OPC is for Open Protocol Communication. It was developed for data transferring between different applications in predefined form using predetermined principles. Each online unit has OPC UA or OPC DA server implemented (OPC DA only for A3716). It means you can view data in client application. OPC DA is older version.
  • Page 51 ADASH Ltd. Online monitoring systems OPC tag is parameter you can change in DDS based on your preferences. You can find it in Properties of data cell. Click with right mouse button on data cell and choose properties (see below).
