1. Stop the engine and allow the engine to cool.
Loosen the cooling system filler cap (1) slowly to
relieve any pressure. Remove the cooling system
filler cap. Place a suitable container below radiator
drain plug (2).

2. Remove the drain plug (2) and allow the coolant to
drain
3. Place a suitable container below cylinder block
drain (4). Remove cylinder block drain (4) and
allow coolant to drain into container.
4. Properly dispose of the drained material. Obey
local regulations for the disposal of the material.
Alternative Drain Plug
If necessary, remove drain plug (3) to drain coolant
from system. If necessary, replace O ring seal on
plug and install drain plug (3).Tighten to 35 N·m
(25 lb ft).
Flush
1. Flush the cooling system with clean water to
remove any debris.
2. Clean the drain plugs and install the drain plugs.
Tighten the drain plugs securely.
Do not fill the cooling system faster than 5 L
(1.3 US gal) per minute to avoid air locks.
Cooling system air locks may result in engine
damage.
3. Fill the cooling system with clean water. Install the
cooling system filler cap.

4. Start and run the engine at low idle until the
temperature reaches 49 to 66 °C (120 to 150 °F).
