Apply grease to splined power takeoff shaft. Position
the clutch throw-out to align the grease f i t t i n g with
the hole i n the housing (#1 cylinder side, horizontal).
P u l l the throw-out collar outward to remove tension.
I n s t a l l the clutch housing so that the clutch throw-out
fork engages the throw-out collar. Be sure the serrated
shaft is properly meshed with the clutch plate. Use
two cap screws 7/16-14 x 2 " o n the lower and one cap
screw 7/16-14 x 1 - 3 / 4 " o n the upper #2 cylinder side.
I n s t a l l the stud washer and nut. Lubricate the two
grease f i t t i n g s just u n t i l grease appears.
BATTERY CONNECTIONS (Engines with Automotive
Type Separate Starter)
Connect the 12 volt battery positive cable to the engine
start s w i t c h terminal. Connect the battery negative
cable to the ground point on the engine o i l base (Figure
4).
