Fuels, electrical e q u i p m e n t , batteries, exhaust gases
and m o v i n g parts present potential hazards that c o u l d

Use Extreme Caution Near Gasoline, G a s e o u s
Fuel And Diesel Fuel. A constant potential ex-
plosive or fire hazard exists.

Fuel lines must be of steel p i p i n g , adequately
secured and free from leaks. Do not use c o p p e r

h a r d e n e d and brittle. Use black pipe o n natural
gas or ciaseous fuels, not o n gasoline or diesel
fuels. P i p m g at the engine s h o u l d be approved
flexible line.
Have a fire extinguisher
nearby. Be sure ex-
t i n g u i s h e r is p r o p e r l y m a i n t a i n e d and be familiar
w i t h its p r o p e r use. Extinguishers rated A B C by
the NFPA are a p p r o p r i a t e for all a p p l i c a t i o n s .
C o n s u l t the local fire d e p a r t m e n t for the c o f r e c t
type of e x t i n g u i s h e r for v a r i o u s a p p l i c a t i o n s .
G u a r d Against Electric S h o c k
R e m o v e electric power b e f o r e r e m o v i n g p r o t e c -
tive shields or t o u c h i n g electrical e q u i p m e n t . Use
rubber insulative mats p l a c e d on dry w o o d plat-
f o r m s over f l o o r s that are m e t a l or c o n c r e t e when
a r o u n d electrical e q u i p m e n t . Do not wear d a m p
c l o t h i n g ( p a r t i o u i a t l v wet shoes) or a l l o w skin
surfaces to he d a m p when nandi.ng electrical
equipment.
Jewelry is a g o o d c o n d u c t o r ol electricity anu
should be removed when w o r k i n g on electrical
equipment.
Use extreme c a u t i o n when w o i k i n g on electrical
c o m p o n e n t s . High voltages cause injury o r d e a t h .
Follow all state and local electrical codes. Have all
electrical installations performed by a qualified
licensed electrician.
Do Not Smoke While Servicing Batteries

emit a highly
explosive
hydrogen gas that can be ignited by electrical
arcing or by s m o k i n g .
Exhaust G a s e s Are Toxic
Provide an adequate exhaust system to properly
expel discharged gases. Check exhaust system
regularly for leaks. Ensure that exhaust manifolds
are secure and not warped.
Be sure the unit is well ventilated.
Keep The Unit And Surrounding Area Clean.
Remove all oil deposits. Remove all unnecessary
grease and oil from the unit. A c c u m u l a t e d grease
and oil can cause overheating and subsequem
engine damage and may present a potential lire
hazard.
Dispose of oily rags. Keep the floor clean and dry.
Protect Against Moving Parts.
Avoid moving parts of the unit. Loose jackets,
shirts or sleeves should not be permitted because
of the danger of b e c o m i n g caught in moving
parts.
Make sure all nuts and bolts are secure. Keep
power shields a n d . g u a r d s in position.
If adjustments m u s t be made while the unit is
running,
use
extreme
caution
around
hot
manifolds, m o v i n g parts, etc.
Do not work on this e q u i p m e n t when mentally or
physically fatigued.
