Set up the Safety Controller.

Installing the Option Board
Install the Option Board.
Precautions for Correct Use
Make sure that the power supply is OFF when you install.

Confirm that the power supply to
the Safety Controller is OFF.

Remove the cover of the option
board slot, and install the
RS-232C option board
(CP1W-CIF01).
RS-232C communications
settings of the Safety Controller
are as follows and cannot be
changed.
•RS-232C communications
setting (fixed)
Baud rate: 9,600 bps
Data length: 8 bits
Stop bits: 1 bit
Parity: E (Even parity)

Connect the serial cable
(RS-232C) to the Safety
Controller as shown on the right.
Connect the expansion I/O
connecting cable to the Safety
Controller.
Connect the 24VDC(+) line to
terminal V1 of the Safety
Controller, and the GND line to
terminal G1.

Turn ON the power supply to the
Safety Controller.
