LDC401 & LDC401A Automated Cleavers
Chapter 9: Controlling the LDC401 and LDC401A
9.5.2. Motor Control
The Motor Control window initially allows the user to select which motor to manipulate. On LDC401, these are left
FHB, Cleave Blade and right rotation. On selecting one of these options, a generic motor control window opens.

Tools – Motor Control (Select)
The Motor Control window provides a numeric window where the user can type in the desired motor position. After
pressing Enter, the move is initiated. Below is a slider control that displays both target position and current position.
The user can also touch and slide the slider button to move the motor. Below the slider are individual buttons for
small step manipulation in either direction and a stop button.
In the case of the left FHB, the user is given a checkbox option to apply the current position to the FHB offset. When
used to control the Cleave Blade motor, the user can optionally apply the position to the Pre-Cleave Advance
parameter.

9.5.3. Auto Parameter
Auto Parameter will generate a basic set of suggested theoretical values based on Fiber Diameter (and if required,
Desired Cleave Angle). The user can touch the tick to use the suggested parameters. Touching any parameter in
the list on the right will bring up the Parameter View/Edit Screen, allowing fast access to modify that parameter
(provided the user has sufficient Access Permissions).
