to each other.

Optional
By default, if an interface has a
RIP version specified, the version
takes precedence over the global
one. If no RIP version is specified
for an interface, the interface can
send RIPv1 broadcasts, and
receive RIPv1 broadcasts,
unicasts, RIPv2 broadcasts,
multicasts and unicasts.
