Battery removal, 48 Volt System

Batteries for the 48 volt system are packed into a small
area and requires a specific procedure to get them out of
the vehicle. Refer to Individual Batteries section for actual
battery removal instructions for an individual battery.
The illustration to the right shows the left bank of a typical
battery installation in a vehicle with the 48 volt system
with the cables removed. Some components have been
omitted for clarity
Note: The charger may have to be removed to
provide clearance.
1: Remove all of the battery cables from the
batteries.
2: Remove the battery hold downs.
3: Lift the rear battery at an angle as shown.
4: Lift the front battery at an angle as shown and
remove the battery from the vehicle.
5: The remaining batteries can now be removed.
6: Repeat the same procedure for the four batteries
on the right side.
