1.3 Securing the guide wire - ground level
IMPORTANT:
Before feeding the guide wire ropes through
the platform, fit the correct number of wire
rope fixes on the wire rope and feed through
the wire rope guides. The wire rope fixes are
fitted during the first run.
Feed the guide wire rope through the outer
Ø0.79 in (Ø20mm) holes in the platform.
Underneath the platform the guide wire ropes are
fastened and tightened using one of the following
three methods.

1.3.1 Method 1: Wedge anchor

Mount wire ropes as shown in Fig. 8 following
procedure below.
1) Drill 2 Ø0.63x2.95 in (Ø16x75 mm) holes in the
floor underneath the outer Ø0.79 in (Ø20mm)
holes in the platform.
2) Fasten the wedge anchors in the holes and
mount an M16 lifting eyebolt.
3) After loosening the rigging screw as much as
possible, fasten the rigging screw to the eyebolt
in one end and the wire rope using wire rope
grips in the other.
4) Tighten the wire rope as described in section
1.3.4. Excess wire rope is coiled and hung by
means of wire strips. Use at least 3 strips.
6) Mount the second wire rope.

1.3.2 Method 2: Tripod

Pull the guide wire rope through the platform and
fasten with the tripod (See Fig. 8a.)
1) After feeding the guide wire rope through the
platform continue feeding the wire rope through
the tripod and the Ø0.63x0.06 in (Ø16x1.5 mm)
aluminium tube.
2) Lock the aluminium tube, the wire rope, and the
treated rod using a wire rope locking device.
Make sure the tube is placed so no contact is
made between the wire rope and treated rod.
(See Fig 8a).
3) Tighten the wire rope locking device bolts.
! 4) Mount the second wire rope.
ATTENTION!
Check the distance between the wire ropes so that the
wire rope fix and wire ropes are in the centre of the
wire rope guides (See Fig. 6 section 1.2). Tighten the
wire rope locking device after the first run.
