10.2 – Operational Thermostat Set :
The Operational Thermostat Set can be found in the Air Vent, at the rear of Dryer. It is composed by two
thermostats: Thermostat 1 NORMAL CYCLE and Thermostat 2 GENTLE CYCLE.
When the Thermostats are operating the Heater open the contacts (i.e., it is disconnected) but the motor
keeps operating. The contacts of these thermostats close again automatically.
The Gentle Cycle Thermostat comes with a colored dot, which is a guide for a correct fitting of the the
terminal on the wire.
Use a Multimeter to test the thermostats and check continuity between their terminals.
10.2.1 – Normal Cycle Thermostat:
The Normal Cycle Thermostat operates when the Gentle Cycle Knob is not pushed.
The Normal Cycle Thermostat operates in the following temperature ranges:
contact opening: 60ºC to 66ºC
contact closing: 49ºC to 59ºC
10.2.2 – Gentle Cycle Thermostat:
The Gentle Cycle Thermostat operates when the Gentle Cycle Knob is pushed; in this case, the Indicator
Lamp lights in the Dryer Panel.
The Gentle Cycle Thermostat operates in the following temperature ranges:
contact opening: 42ºC to 48ºC
contact closing: 30ºC to 40ºC
