Operation Section
Features and Controls
The Diagnostic output differs from the Warning and
Shutdown outputs. The Warning and Shutdown
outputs refer to the operation of the engine. The
Diagnostic output refers to the condition of the
electronic system and software system.
A diagnostic fault may develop on the lubricating
oil pressure or coolant temperature sensors. For
example, if a Shutdown protection sensor has a fault,
this will result in an engine shutdown, unless the
system is in critical protection override. If a diagnostic
fault occurs with one of the engine speed sensors
while the engine is running. The engine continues to
run by using the other timing sensor for reference.
