CR Console Operation Manual
The setting of image trimming for an already read image can be inactivated on the QA screen.
Even if the size of a read image does not fit to the image size before image extraction specified for
the "Extraction size" item, it is possible for you to change the trimming frame position to locate the
ROI at the center. (See [Chapter 4 OPERATIONS - IMAGE EDIT].)
However, the range of image trimming cannot be set for a size that exceeds the size of the read image.
Image display size and trimming size
When setting for trimming processing has been performed, a read image and its thumbnail image will
be the image before extraction combined with a trimming frame. If the image undergoes
magnification/reduction processing, its trimming frame will also be magnified/reduced accordingly.
The size displayed in the exposure menu field will be the size for the area specified with the
trimming frame. Moreover, if an image edited on the QA screen is saved, it will be saved in the size
by which the area specified by the trimming frame was extracted. However, the range of image
trimming cannot be set for a size that exceeds the size of the read image.
NOTES
• Trimming processing is not available in the cases a) to c) below, even if the size of a read image is
the same as that of the image before it has been subjected to trimming processing as specified in
"Trimming Size:" above.
a) Images read from the FCR 5000 series at standard density
b) Composed images or source images for composition
c) Energy subtraction images
d) Some of the images read in FR mode
• With regard to an image that has been subjected to trimming processing to 10"x14" or 14"x10"
size, do not change image magnification ratio or image rotation direction on the image display
unit side. Because the trimming frame position information varies as the image magnification
ratio or image rotation direction changes, 10"x14" or 14"x10" sized images cannot be output
correctly even if they are reprinted via the CR Console.
• Modifying an exposure menu or replacing an image after image reading processing will retain the
trimming setting determined before such a change, resulting thus in disabling re-trimming
processing at initial menu setting after such a change.
• Note that the determined trimming setting will not be reflected on images extracted to 10"x12",
8"x10", 14"x17" 2on1, 10"x14" 2on1 or 14"x17" 4on1, if they are transferred to a filing device or
a soft copy device at standard density.
• When an image trimmed to 10"x14" or 14"x10" size is delivered (except for film output), it is
output in 14"x17" or 14"x14", depending on the image size before trimming processing. (The area
outside the trimming frame is painted in black.)
3 - 44
: Trims a read image to the 8"x14" size, the half of 14"x17", if the 2on1 film format is
selected for the read image.
: Trims a read image to the 7"x10" size, the half of 10"x14", if the 2on1 film format is
selected for the read image.
: Trims a read image to the 7"x8" size, the one fourth of 14"x17", if the 4on1 film
format is selected for the read image.
