Deplacement du bras
L'ecrou hexagonal qui maintient ensemble
le carter de lame et le support a ete regle
en usine pour assurer en douceur le de-
placement du bras vers le haut ou le bas,
et vous garantir un sciage precis. Ne
touchez pas au mecanisme.
Si toutefois un desserrage se produit au
niveau du carter de lame et du support,
resserrez l'ecrou hexagonal auto-serrant
l'aide d'une cle tout en maintenant le
boulon avec une autre cle.

Apres avoir ajuste recrou hexagonal auto-serrant, assurez-vous
que Is bras retourne automatiquement a sa position initiale —
elevee — a partir de n'importe quelle autre position. Si l'ecrou
auto-serrant est trop relache, la precision de taille se trouvera
affectee; s'il est trop serre, le bras sera dur a mouvoir vers le
haut ou le bas. Notez bien qu'il s'agit d'un ecrou auto-serrant,
dun type particulier qui ne se desserre pas durant une utilisa-
tion normale. II ne doit iamais etre trop serre ou remplace par
d'autres modeles d'ecrou.
Reglage du biseautage
L'ecrou hex. auto-serrant maintenant en-
semble le support et sa monture a ete
regle en usine de facon a permettre d'ef-
fectuer en douceur toute operation de
biseautage et a assurer un sciage precis.
N'y touchez donc pas. Si un certain re-
lachement s'observe a la jointure du sup-
port et de sa monture, serrez l'ecrou hex.

Adjusting for smooth handle action
The hex lock nut holding together the
blade case and arm has been factory ad-
justed to assure smooth handle action up
and down and to guarantee precise cut-
ting. Do not tamper with it.
Should looseness develop at the blade
case and arm connection, tighten the hex
lock nut using a wrench while holding the
bolt with another wrench.

After adjusting the hex lock nut, be sure the handle returns
automatically to the initial, raised position from any position.
If the hex lock nut is too loose, the cutting accuracy will be
affected; if it is too tight, it will be hard to work the handle up
and down. Note that this is a self locking nut; it is a special
type that does not loosen during normal use. If should not be
overtightened or replaced with other types of nuts.
Adjusting for smooth beveling action
The hex lock nut holding together the arm
and arm holder has been factory adjusted
to assure smooth beveling action and to
guarantee precise cutting. Do not tamper
with it. Should looseness develop at the
arm and arm holder connection, tighten
the hex lock nut using a wrench.

Pour remplacer lea charbons
Retirez de l'outil et verifies l'etat des
charbons periodiquement. Les remplacer
quand l'usure eat telle qu'elle a atteint
le trait de limite d'usure. Maintenez-les
en kat de proprete et glissant aisement
dans lee porte-charbon. Les deux charbons
doivent etre remplaces en meme temps.
N'utilisez que des charbons identiques.
Retires les tetes porte-charbon a l'aide
d'un tournevis. Enlevez les charbons uses,
inserez-en
de
nouveaux et revissez solide-
ment lee tetes porte-charbon.

Awes utilisation
• Apres avoir utilise votre scie, essuyez les copeaux et la sciure
qui y adherent a l'aide d'un chiffon, etc. Maintenez propre le
carter de securite, conformement aux directives du paragraphe
ci-dessus "Carter de securite". Lubrifiez lee parties coulissantes
l'huile de machine pour empecher la rouille
de
se former.
• Lorsque vous ranges votre outil, tirez le chariot a fond vers
vous de facon que la tige de coulissage se trouve completement
inseree dans le socle rotatif.
Afin de conserver a votre outil sa SURETE et sa FIABILITE,
reparations, reglages et operations d'entretien doivent etre effec-
tues par un Centre de Service Makita ou un Centre autorise par
Makita et, toujours, avec des pieces de rechange Makita.
Replacing carbon brushes
Remove and check the carbon brushes
regularly. Replace when they wear down
to the limit mark. Keep the carbon
brushes clean and free to slip in the
holders. Both carbon brushes should be
replaced at the same time. Use only iden-
tical carbon brushes.
Use a screwdriver to remove the brush
holder caps. Take out the worn carbon
brushes, insert the new ones and secure
the brush holder caps.

After use
• After use, wipe off chips and dust adhering to the tool with a
cloth or the like. Keep the safety cover clean according to the
directions in the previously covered "Safety cover". Lubricate
the sliding portions with machine oil to prevent rust.
• When storing the tool, pull the carriage toward you fully so
that the slide pole is thoroughly inserted into the turn base.
To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, any
other maintenance or adjustment should be performed by
Makita Authrozied or Factory Service Centers, always using
Makita replacement parts.
