Disconnect 15-pin harness
from controller. Measure
probe resistance using J3 Pin
14 and J4 Pin 10 (and J3 Pin
14 and J2 Pin 1, if dual-vat).
Problem is not with
probe.

CHAPTER 1: SERVICE PROCEDURES
While still in frypot, inspect
probe bulb for damage.
Remove and replace if bent,
dented or cracked.
Inspect leads for fraying,
burning, breaks and/or
kinks. If found, remove
and replace probe.
Determine temperature of
cooking oil/shortening
using a thermometer or
pyrometer placed at tip of
probe.
Which interface board is
installed?
Is resistance
approximately equal to
that given in the Probe
Resistance Chart for
corresponding
temperature?
Yes
Measure resistance
through each of the
previously tested pins to
ground.
Is resistance 5
Yes
megaohms or greater in
each pin?
1-40
P/N 806-3398
Disconnect 15-pin harness
from controller. Measure
probe resistance using J3
Pins 2 and 6 (and J1 Pins
2 and 6, if dual-vat).
No
No
Probe has failed.
