slots (with connector side of drive facing down)

Slide the drive assembly into the slot until the drive connector engages with the connector on the backplane.

Close the drive release handle until it clicks into place, to lock the hard drive/SSD.

CAUTION:
Do not keep the drive drawer open for more than three minutes.
NOTE:
This is a field replaceable unit (FRU). Removal and installation procedures must be performed only by Dell certified
service technicians.
NOTE:
You must remove a hard drive/SSD from the drive rails if you are replacing the hard drive/SSD with a new drive.
NOTE:
The drive rails are attached to the sides of the hard drive/SSD. One of the rails comprises the release handle.

Ensure that you read the

Open the drive drawer.

Remove the hard drive/SSD assembly from the drive drawer.

Close the drive drawer.

Keep the #1 Phillips screwdriver ready.

Remove the screws securing the hard drive/SSD to the drive rails.
