Inside Window Frame Installation
If the blind was ordered as an "Inside
Mount," to ensure a proper fit, the factory
has already made allowances from the
window measurements.
Bracket Installation
The installation brackets are designed with
a series of holes to allow for many
different mounting conditions. Mount
both left and right brackets in the upper
inside corners of each window. Set the
front of the bracket so that it projects 1/4"
into the room (in front of the drywall).
This allowance will allow the valance
returns to fit snuggly against the drywall.
The doors of the installation brackets are
intended to open from the front and swing
upward.
Outside Window Frame
(Wall Mount) Installations
If the blind was ordered as an "Outside
Mount," the factory has made the item
exactly to the ordered size.
Bracket Installation
The installation brackets are designed to
work for wall mounting. Use a minimum
of two screws through the back plate of
each bracket, one being placed in an
upper hole. Make sure this upper screw is
firmly imbedded into the wall framing.
Basswood and Fauxwood horizontal blinds
tend to be heavy and installation brackets
require secure fastening. Brackets also
can be mounted onto trim or molding
around the windows. If you are installing
into a hollow wall, you'll need to purchase
the appropriate hollow wall anchors. Seek
the advice of an expert at your local
hardware store.
Plan to center the outside mount blind on
the window, allowing equal extension
beyond the window edge on both sides.
Brackets should be placed a minimum of
2‐1/2" above window opening for
Basswood and Fauxwood horizontal
blinds.
Spacer Blocks
If the blind must be extended from the
wall, due to window cranks or other
objects of this nature, spacer blocks are
provided (if requested) for the installation
and center support brackets.
Center Supports
If the blind is over 49 inches wide,
center supports have been furnished.
Center supports are to be spaced at no
more than 30 inches apart. Install center
supports so that they do not
interfere with any lift cords or slat
ladders. For inside mount, the back plate
of the installation brackets should be
mounted at the distance out, from the
back of the window.
