Introduction

This new Half-size CPU Card SBC-657 with onboard VIA Eden 667 or Ezra
800MHz (fan required), offers great value in an embedded computing
platform for low power, low profile, fanless, mobile industrial applied
computing applications based using the PCISA CPU card / Slot PC
standard.
With its superior computing capacity using low power, embedded, x86-
compliant architecture for industrial embedded computers, the SBC-657
enables flexible system designs, including low profile and silent fanless
devices (667MHz only). The VIA Eden Platform is designed for optimal
heat dissipation and power consumption, allowing quiet-running fanless
device designs and saving on energy costs and battery life. With this
ultimate feature onboard SBC-657 saves energy in mobile designs.
Features onboard included: Integrated 4X 2D/3D Graphic Controller,
a 10/100Base-T Fast Ethernet port, and 18/36-bit LCD Panel support. Its
design is based on the half-size CPU card form factor and supports ISA
bus, PC/104 expansion. Other on-board features include 4 COMs / 1
Parallel / 4 USBs / 1 IrDA Port. The SSD solution supports
CompactFlash cards. Power management can be flexible with its ATX or
AT power support.
This product uses a VIA Twister-T chip VT8606 with Integrated 2D/3D/
Video Accelerator. The VGA/LCD interface has a frame buffer of up to 32
MB using system memory. It can display both CRT and Flat Panel (TFT)
simutaneously. The SBC-657 supports single 10/100Mbps Ethernet
connections through RJ-45 connectors. The SBC-657 can be the best
fanless solution if Eden 667MHz CPU is chosen. This is perfect for target
market segments such as modern gateway devices, VPNs, firewalls,
or machine controllers, especially for *Always on* devices.
