DRYER OPERATION
psig (4.0 to 4.1 bar), immediately take corrective
action utilizing the dryer troubleshooting section
of this manual.
3. Open the air shutoff valve slowly and apply load to
the compressor/dryer. Check the suction pres-
sure, head pressure, sight glass and moisture in-
dicator for normal operating conditions as
shown in Section 8.5 of this manual.

8.5 NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS

After the compressor/dryer has been started under
rated load, let the compressor/dryer run for at least
15 minutes to allow stabilization of the system.
The gauge readings should be as follows:
REFRIGERANT SUCTION PRESSURE
R---22 fully loaded is 65 psig (4.5 bar) and unloaded
is 58 psig (4.0 bar).

REFRIGERANT HEAD PRESSURE
To the ambient temperature add 25_F to 30_F (15_C
to 18_C) then convert to pressure using the Temper-
ature Pressure Chart (Figure

NOTE
Add 1 psig (0.7 bar) to the minimum allowable suc-

ft. (610m) elevation above sea level.
NOTE
If compressor is run without dryer being started,
the compressor will deliver compressed air
through the dryer without any drying being
achieved.
