3.5 The level test

When you choose a predefined training
profile, the equipment needs to know the
effort level before starting . This is your own
specific, ideal effort level, i.e., the top level at
which to set the workout parameters you
have chosen, so they suit your physical
condition. This level is determined by the test.
The test is simple and lasts 10 to 11 minutes;
to take it, you must use the heart rate meter
(chest band).
Repeating this simple test lets you check
improvements over time, making it a useful
motivational tool.

NFORMATION
Take the test after at least two weeks
of light exercise; after that, test
yourself periodically to assess
improvements and adjust workout
intensity to the performance you
have reached.
With the equipment
in Standby, press
the TEST button.
The equipment asks for your age and weight:
AGE= 0
key in you age (e.g. 29) with the number keys
and then press ENTER.
The display will show:
WEIGHT-LBS = O
key in your weight (e.g. 155) and then press
ENTER.
At this point, if the equipment does not detect
the heart rate signal, the display will show
the following message:
WEAR CHEST BAND
But if the equipment does detect the heart
rate signal, the display will show:
START
The equipment then emits a beep and the
test begins.
The first 60 seconds are for warming up, at
effort level 1:
WARM UP
If your heart rate is high during the warm-up,
the test will be interrupted and the display
will show the following message:
INVALID TEST: HIGH HEART RATE
