2.4 Connecting the Subsystem to the Workstation

To connect the PowerStorm 1000 graphics subsystem to the AlphaStation system, the
graphics subsystem deskside chassis must be placed along side or near the AlphaStation
system.
Perform the following procedure to connect the PowerStorm 1000 graphics subsystem
deskside chassis to the AlphaStation system.
1. Connect the Hbus cable from the Workstation Interface Board in the AlphaStation
system to the Hbus connector on the Graphics Interface Module bulkhead located at
the top rear of the deskside chassis.
2. For the entry and full PowerStorm 1000 graphic subsystems, connect the VGA cable
from the VGA Module in the AlphaStation system to the VGA console video input
connector on the Standard Resolution Module bulkhead located at the bottom rear of
the deskside chassis.
3. For the entry and full PowerStorm 1000 graphic subsystems, connect the VGA
monitor cable from the VGA monitor to the graphics video output connector on the
Standard Resolution Module bulkhead located at the bottom rear of the deskside
chassis.
4. For the high resolution PowerStorm 1000 graphic subsystem, connect the VGA
monitor cable from the VGA monitor to the VGA Module in the AlphaStation system.
Connect the HRM video cable from the D3w13 connector on the High Resolution
Module bulkhead located at the bottom rear of the deskside chassis to the five BNC-
connectors on the Sony DDM-2801C or DDM-2802C 2K x 2K monitor.
