3. Remove the filler panel screw and the blank filler panel from the PCI slot selected for
installing the Workstation Interface Board. Save the filler panel screw for securing the
Workstation Interface Board in place.
4. Put on an antistatic wriststrap.

An antistatic wriststrap must be worn when handling any board or module to
prevent damage to the board or module.

5. Slide the Workstation Interface Board into the selected PCI slot and apply firm
pressure until the Workstation Interface Board is firmly seated. Secure the
Workstation Interface Board in place with the filler panel screw that was removed in
step 3.
6. If an entry or full PowerStorm 1000 graphics subsystem is being installed, remove the
filler panel screw and the blank filler panel from the PCI slot selected for installing
the VGA Module. Save the filler panel screw for securing the VGA Module in place.
7. Slide the VGA Module into the selected PCI slot and apply firm pressure until the
VGA Module is firmly seated. Secure the VGA Module in place with the filler panel
screw that was removed in step 6.
8. Reinstall the PCI card cage cover on the AlphaStation system.
9. Connect one end of the Hbus cable to the connector on the Workstation Interface
Board bulkhead.
10. If an entry or full PowerStorm 1000 graphics subsystem is being installed, connect one
end of the VGA cable to the VGA console video output connector on the VGA
Module.
