The internal flash unit of this time is electrically constituted in the upper cabinet of a
camera and connected to the CA-31 board through the KC-47 and RM-177 boards.
The internal flash is charged when the STRB CHG signal at pin 7 of connector
CN651 is set high. The internal flash emits light when the STRB TRG signal at pin
9 of CN651 becomes active in a low level.
When the camera ISO sensitivity at pins 10 and 11 of CN651 is switched, the
adjusted light level can be changed to stabilize the exposure according to the
information after the internal flash emits light.
The STRB PWR signal at pin 12 of CN651 controls the main power of the internal
flash. It is kept high as required. The signal at pin 13 of CN651 is a light-emitting
signal of external flash. Light is emitted when the signal becomes active in a high
level.
The internal flash unit of this time is mounted in the upper cabinet of a camera as
described above. Therefore, replace the whole upper cabinet of a camera for repair
when a failure occurs in this block. During replacement, a high voltage may be
charged on a flash capacitor. Be careful not to receive an electric shock.
