To reduce the number of devices at the substation level, SYS 600C Control System HSI
and the Communication Gateway function can be combined in the same computer as
shown in Figure 4.6.

For increased availability, SYS 600C can be con gured as a redundant Control System
HSI and integrated Communication Gateway with redundant communication lines to
Remote Control Center as shown in Figure 4.7.
