Installing the System into a Rack

Installing into a Rack
1. Verify that the inner and outer rails are securely installed.
2. Line up the inner (chassis) rails with the front of the outer (rack) rails.
3. Slide the chassis rails into the rack rails, keeping pressure even on both sides. (You
might need to depress the locking tabs when inserting.) An audible click indicates that
the server has locked into the rack.
4. (Optional) Insert and tighten the thumbscrews that hold the front of the server to the
rack.
Warning: In any instance of pulling the system from the rack, always use a rack lift
and follow all associated safety precautions.
Warning: When initially installing the server to a rack, test that the rail locking tabs
engage to prevent the server from being overextended. Have a rack lift in place as a
precaution in case the test fails.
