SECTION 7: SERVICE

Review the troubleshooting and procedures in this section if a problem develops with your machine. If you
need replacement parts or additional help with a procedure, call our Technical Support at (570) 546-9663.
Note: Please gather the serial number and manufacture date of your machine before calling.
Symptom

Troubleshooting

Possible Solution
1. Adjust tension of belt (see Belt Tension &
Replacement on Page 32).
1. Replace bearing.
1. True the grinding wheel (see Truing/Dressing
Wheel on Page 21).
2. Dress grinding wheel (see Truing/Dressing Wheel
on Page 21); replace grinding wheel.
3. Ensure grinding wheel is appropriate to tooling
material.
1. Ensure machine is on solid, flat surface.
2. True the grinding wheel (see Truing/Dressing
Wheel on Page 21).
3. Retighten grinding wheel with wheel puller.
4. Inspect/replace damaged bolts/nuts and retighten.
5. Test by rotating shaft; loose/grinding spindle
requires bearing replacement.
1. Trace/replace broken or corroded wires; fix loose
connections.
2. Switch power supply on/verify voltage.
3. Ensure circuit size is correct/replace weak breaker.
4. Replace switch.
5. Test/repair/replace.
6. Test/repair/replace.
1. Test for good contacts/correct wiring.
2. Use new grinding wheel; reduce feed rate.
3. Test/repair/replace.
4. Test by rotating shaft; loose/grinding spindle
requires bearing replacement.
1. Reduce pressure and feed rate.
2. Dress grinding wheel (see Truing/Dressing Wheel
on Page 21); replace grinding wheel.
3. Replace grinding wheel; store wheels in cool, dry
area.
