Occasionally wipe the system with a soft dry cloth. Remove persistent dirt by use of a soft, slightly damp cloth (only use a mild detergent). -

It is also possible to beat the filter mat, to vacuum it or blow it with compressed air. For dirt that contains grease/oil, the filter mat should be rinsed with warm water with the addition of a degreaser.
