  • Page 30 If media has a large slack, take it up onto the media roll to remove the slack appropriately. Media having a large slack may touch the media set lever, causing the printer to malfunction.     Choose Finish in the installation wizard after successfully installing the Kiaro! 50 Maintenance Utility and driver. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable to the Kiaro! 50 USB type B port. Connect the larger end of the USB cable to an available USB 2.0 port on your computer.

    If you connected the USB cable before running the installation wizard, Windows 7 and Windows 8 will not recognize the printer correctly. In this case, the Kiaro! 50 will be listed as an Unspecified item in the Devices and Printers window.

    Most graphic design software applications provide anti-aliasing features that result in the appearance of smooth color transitions. When designing labels that will be printed on the Kiaro! 50, do not use anti-aliasing. This is especially important if you are printing text or barcodes. For example, an anti-aliased barcode may not scan correctly due to the color transitions between lines.
