To install the component:
Power down the server blade (on page 14).
1.
Remove the server blade (on page 15).
2.
Remove the access panel (on page 15).
3.
Disconnect the direct connect SATA cable, if installed

Remove the internal USB drive, if installed. To locate the internal USB connector, see "System board

Remove the left DIMM baffle
6.
Install the Smart Storage Battery on the left DIMM baffle.
7.
Slide one end of the battery into the battery holder.

Press down the other end of the battery into the holder until the latch secures the battery.
