2. Fuel sender
• Drain the fuel from the fuel tank and then
remove the fuel pump (fuel sender) from
the fuel tank.
• Connect the pocket tester (DC 5 A) and
battery (12 V) to the fuel pump terminals
as shown.
• Immerse the fuel sender in a container
filled with fuel.
Positive tester probe → orange/green 1
Negative tester probe →
positive battery terminal
Negative battery terminal → black 2
• Measure the fuel sender current.

• Is the fuel sender OK?
YES

SIGNALING SYSTEM
3. Resistor
• Disconnect the resistor coupler from the
wire harness.
• Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 100) to the
resistor terminal as shown.
Positive tester probe → black 1
Negative tester probe → black 2

• Measure the resistor resistance.
Resistor resistance
68 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
• Is the resistor OK?
4. Wiring
• Check the entire signaling system's wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM".
• Is the signaling system's wiring properly
connected and without defects?
Replace the ECU.
