Check print quality poor

Condition
Printer starts to print, but stops
while the form is being printed.
Forms print is light or spotty.
Ribbon cassette is worn.
Light print, smudging, or
slip skews.
Receipt print quality poor
Condition
Colored stripe on receipt.
Receipt does not come out
all the way.

Open the receipt cover, inspect the knife,
and clear any jammed paper.

Check that the paper is loaded properly.
Use recommended thermal receipt paper.
Clean the thermal print head with an
alcohol pen prior to going back to an
approved paper.
Do not spray the thermal print head with
household cleaner as this may damage
it and the electronics. The thermal print
head does not normally require cleaning
if the recommended paper grades are
used. If you have used non-recommended
paper for an extended period of time,
cleaning the print head with an alcohol
pen will not help.
