So that models not designed for Energy Start Tire2 may also use the
updated ROM (Ver. 7), a DIP SW has been added to the DC controller
PCB to enable selection of Energy Star Tire2 compliance or non-
compliance. (See the diagram below.)
For this reason, it is important to find out whether or not the model is
designed for Energy Start Tire2 before replacing the DC controller PCB.
The use of an updated ROM on a DC controller PCB of previous version
will not update the machine to accommodate Energy Star Tire2.
DC Controller PCB Available as a Temporary Measure
• A DIP switch (DIPSW 102) consisting of two circuits has been added to
the existing DC controller PCB.
• Compliance/Non-Compliance with Energy Star Tire2

Note that bit 2 is not used.

• The change made provides four circuits instead of three for a DIP switch
(DIPSW101) on the DC Controller PCB.
• Allows selection of compliance or non-compliance with Energy Star
