Application

Factory defined settings

The factory defined settings are very useful for identifying a specific version and very
helpful in the case of maintenance, repair, interchanging IEDs between different
Substation Automation Systems and upgrading. The factory made settings can not be
changed by the customer. They can only be viewed. The settings are found in the local
HMI under Main menu/Diagnostics/IED status/Product identifiers
The following identifiers are available:
IEDProdType
Describes the type of the IED (like REL, REC or RET). Example: REL650
ProductVer
Describes the product version. Example: 1.2.3
1 is the Major version of the manufactured product this means, new platform of the
product
2 is the Minor version of the manufactured product this means, new functions or new
hardware added to the product
3 is the Major revision of the manufactured product this means, functions or hardware is
either changed or enhanced in the product
ProductDef
Describes the release number, from the production. Example: 1.2.3.4
where;
1 is the Major version of the manufactured product this means, new platform of the
product
2 is the Minor version of the manufactured product this means, new functions or new
hardware added to the product
3 is the Major revision of the manufactured product this means, functions or hardware is
either changed or enhanced in the product
4 is the Minor revision of the manufactured product this means, code is corrected in the
product
SerialNo: the structure of the SerialNo is as follows, for example, T0123456

is the last two digits in the year when the IED was manufactured that is, 2001
23
is the week number when the IED was manufactured
456 is the sequential number of the IEDs produced during the production week
OrderingNo: the structure of the OrderingNo is as follows, for example,
1MRK008526-BA. This alphanumeric string has no specific meaning except,
that it is used for internal identification purposes within ABB.
ProductionDate: states the production date in the "YYYY-MM_DD" format.
