6. To install a new front fan assembly, see "Installing the front fan assembly" on page 85.
7. If you are instructed to return the old front fan assembly, follow all packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials that are supplied to you for shipping.
Installing the front fan assembly
To install a new front fan assembly, do the following:
1. Prepare your server. See "Preparing your server and removing the server cover" on page 41.
2. Remove the front bezel. "Removing the front bezel" on page 42.
3. Remove the old front fan assembly in your server. See "Removing the front USB assembly" on page 77.
4. Align the rubber mounts of the new front fan assembly with the corresponding holes in the chassis
and push the rubber mounts through the holes.
5. Carefully pull on the tips of the rubber mounts until the front fan assembly is secured in place.

6. Connect the front fan assembly cable to the front system fan connector on the system board. See
"System board components" on page 20.

Removing the rear fan assembly
To remove the rear fan assembly, do the following:

3. Disconnect the cable of the rear fan assembly.
