Using the parallel fence
The parallel fence (10) allows
you to make parallel cuts in a
sheet of wood, all at the same
width.
WARNING. Always ensure that
the saw is switched off and
the battery is removed before
making any adjustments.
Slide the parallel fence (10) into the slot (7) in the base
plate (12).
Adjust the guide to the required width and secure it in
position with the locking knob (15).
Ensure that the guide rests against the wood along its entire
length to give a consistent parallel cut.
Changing the blade
Always ensure that the saw is switched off and
WARNING.
the battery is detached from the tool before making any
adjustments.
Rotate the saw blade by hand
while depressing the spindle lock
button (8) until the blade locks.
Turn the blade bolt anti-clockwise
using the hex key provided.
Remove the outer blade flange
and the blade bolt.
Fully open by rotating the lower
rotating blade guard
Remove the saw blade from the
inner flange and pull it out.
Note, this is a close fit and lifting
the plastic lever of the rotating
blade guard (13) will help.
Clean the saw blade flanges
thoroughly before mounting the
new saw blade.
Holding the new blade to be
fitted, check the direction of the blade. Hold the blade so the
arrow on the blade corresponds with the arrow on the outer
face of the
upper guard.
The teeth of the blade should be
pointing forward at the front of
the saw. The cutting action is a
up cutting action at the front of
the saw.
With the rotating blade guard
fully open, pass the new blade
through the opening in the base
plate and mount on the raised section of the inner flange
of the saw. This will be easier to do by lifting the plastic
handle (13) of the rotating blade guard slightly to allow more
clearance.
Replace the outer flange. Note, the shaft is machined with
two flats. These flats need to correspond with the flats on
the outer flange, so turn the outer flange on the shaft until
the flange drops FULLY on to the face of the saw blade.
Fit the blade bolt and washer to the spindle and tighten
