3 Configuring HPE StoreEasy 3000 Storage

The HPE StoreEasy 3000 Storage systems can be deployed in the following configurations:
Standalone, which you can also use to configure in a single-node cluster configuration or
join the node to an existing Windows Failover Cluster. Windows Failover clusters can be a
minimum of one node and contain up to eight nodes in one cluster configuration.
Two-node cluster, which will create a new Windows Failover Cluster with a total of two nodes
initially.

configuration using HPE StoreEasy 3000 Storage systems)
Deploying a Windows failover cluster provides additional benefits, such as highly available file
services. For example, you can keep file shares online while performing maintenance on the
cluster that may require rebooting individual servers.
The HPE StoreEasy 3000 Storage is available in the following two models; with differences in
the setup process for each model:
StoreEasy 3850 Gateway Storage—This model provides configuration assistance when
initially setting up a two-node Windows failover cluster. When you first powered on the
servers, you were asked if you wanted to deploy as a standalone or two-node cluster. If you
selected the standalone option, the
necessary to set up the system in a single-node cluster configuration.

cluster. The standalone configuration is not a valid configuration for HP StoreEasy 3850
Gateway Storage.
If you wanted to create a cluster with more than one node and selected the standalone
configuration when you first powered on the server, you can continue to follow the installation
steps for the single-node cluster. Once that is done, follow the instructions in the
Configuration

section.
StoreEasy 3850 Gateway Blade Storage—This model is a server blade that can be added
to a c-Class enclosure. Because there are many options for networking hardware available
in an enclosure, it is difficult to specify the cabling requirements that would be necessary for
a simplified cluster setup. The
to set up the system in a standalone configuration. Once that has been done, see the
guidelines for creating a Windows failover cluster in the following Microsoft Technet article:

Initial Configuration Tasks

The Initial Configuration Task (ICT) window enables you to configure your system. After the initial
configuration is complete, the ICT window launches automatically for a user who is a member
of the local administrator group. You can open only one instance of the ICT at a time.
Use ICT to perform the following configuration tasks:
Update system settings, such as changing the local administrator password, time zone, save
reseller information, and so on.
Launch Network Configuration wizard to configure and validate the network configuration.
Configure email alerts and register product.
Selecting the standalone configuration option enables you to setup a single-node
section. To join a node to an existing cluster, follow the steps in the
